Pterygyium Surgery
Pterygium is the name given to fleshy growth that usually proceed from the corner of the eye, growing towards the clear window of the eye.
It causes frequent eye redness, irritation and discomfort, and the only cure is to remove it. The growth is typically removed in the office, under the microscope, using local anaesthesia. Special effort and treatment is utilized at the time of surgery, to discourage recurrence of the growth, which occurs from time to time.
