Comprehensive Eye Exams
Eye tests play a huge part in making sure your eyes stay healthy. Not only are they important for indicating whether you need to start wearing glasses or need to change your prescription, but also for detecting some common medical conditions.
An optical assistant or ophthalmic technician will perform preliminary measurement of vision and the refractive needs of the eye. The eye doctor will then perform a refraction to determine the need for glasses or contact lens and proceed to test for glaucoma, cataract, retinal diseases or any other condition of the eye. In order to fully assess the eyes, it may be necessary to use eye drops to open up the pupils.
